The bank has implemented two special programs for girls, named GOAL and #SCWomenInTech, in Pakistan. The Goal program is based on various sports and contests, which encourage girls to adopt vibrant lifestyles, develop skills and skills and promote social messaging in this regard. In families, girls aged 12 to 20 are being provided support and training.
In Pakistan, the Goal Program was launched in Karachi in Sindh 2016 and today it has 11,000 girls. This year, the bank has also started in Islamabad. In these two cities of Pakistan, 26 schools are participating in the program so far. In addition, the Goal Program is also promoting girls' employability and economic independence.
Since November 2018, 450 participants in this program have completed their vocational training, so that they can be independent, provide financial guidance in their community circles. Standard Chartered's second program - #SCWomenInTech - has also been introduced in Pakistan this year, which aims to train women to start their own businesses and provide them with development opportunities, so that the volume of business using advanced technology Can be increased.
In addition to providing mentors to guide girls participating in the program, they are also trained. Created by girls, up to $ 10,000 in financial support and capital are also provided to the 5 best businesses. This year, the bank received a total of 85 applications to participate in the program, out of which 20 were approved, so that they could be included in the #SCWomenInTech incubator.
