Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry denies false news about fee cuts
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has completely denied the false news published in some newspapers about the membership of the chamber and the reduction of annual renewal fees. It is reported that the United Group submitted resolutions for membership fees of Rs 2000 and annual renewal fees of Rs 1,500 at the annual general body meeting of the Chamber, which the House unanimously approved, which was completely false. Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Majid Shabbir explained that the general body meeting of the chamber was held on September 30, 2019, in which no resolution on reduction of fees was approved.
The ICCI said that the founders of the Founder Group won a large majority in this year's chamber elections, which led to the successful selection of the Finder Group's candidates as executives and executive members.
The ICCI further explained that after the completion of the agenda of the General Body Meeting, the other group member was offered an opportunity to speak while presenting other points which gave comments about the reduction in fees but none of them. Even the opinion was not approved by the House. Therefore, the Chamber told the members and the business community not to believe such baseless news as such news is merely being spread as false propaganda aimed at creating misunderstandings in the business community.
